RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS

Dr. Trivedi took up the study of mineral resource analysis of south central Aravalli region of Rajasthan. The region is endowed with rich mineral deposits, both metallic, industrial and also the dimensional stones. These are being mixed from the region and have contributed about 60% of total mineral revenue in the state despite the significance of mineral based economy for this region no systematic study with respect to mineral economics, mineral resource analysis and geo-environmental issues of mineral sectors has been carried out. A number of features unique to mineral deposits are required to be studied, e.g. location and distribution peculiarities, geological complexities, depth dimensions, perpetuality, quality and quantities, usability, processing practices, planning, research and developments, trades, socio-economic aspects, conservation etc. Since, the mineral economics has now evolved as an important area of study, therefore, the present study would help in solving many such issues, by which a proper policy frame work and future development plans can be worked out. It would also be possible to suggest suitable mineral administrative reforms. For the first fear research proposal i.e. year 1996-97, necessary secondary data have been collected from the various concerning departments and organisations like State Deptt. of Mines and Geology, GSI, IBM, MECL, Industry Deptt., RFC. HZL, RSMM, RSMDC, etc.
