Photographs are the best visual aids for anamnesis. Fortunately, faculty of the Department has had keen interest in photography, be it photomicrography , field or event photography. They have communicated effectively through the "Universal Language" of photography. Because of this interest the Department witnessed the developed an excellent facility for photography right from the beginning. Starting with carbon'-arc- light-source E. Leitz PANPHOT photomicrography system followed by the manual LEICA camera to Carl-Zeiss NU2 photomicrography system upgraded to automatic camera system on Carl-Zeiss JENAPOL, Leitz LABORLUX 12-POLS, Leitz Image Analysis System followed by Polaroid Digital slide maker and finally the instant photomicrography through Sony Video Graphic Printer and LEO SEM with Camera and 1200 dpi Laser Printer facilities. For the field photographs we had the Aires flex 120 mm as well as Yashica-635, Canon QL and KIEV 35 mm cameras followed by Nikon SLRs (1/4000 to 15sec. shutter speed!) Most of the faculty members have their own SLRs. |

Dark room
for photography was the favorite hobby-room of research scholars and young
faculty members.
But the
development of color photography and the
modern-day instant photography as reduced the importance of the dark room.
Digital photo outputs will be the "last nail" on the doors of
the dark room. Unfortunately, cataloguing and systematic record of
negatives and prints was not maintained in the Department. We could
however salvage a few "historic" photographs from the personal
albums of -Prof. 0. P. Varma, Prof. M. K. Pandya, Prof. B. L. Sharma,
Prof. D. S. Chauhan, Prof. A. B. Roy, Dr. P. S. Ranawat, Prof. A. K.
Lahary, Dr. K. C. Gyani, Dr. N. K. Chauhan and Dr. H. Bhu. Our sincere
thanks to them. |
